The comics, like Hollywood and TV, are finally beginning to depict Muslim characters. But mostly these depictions center around uber-oppressed women vs. raving dudes with beards. Progress? BTW, I feel like Wolvie has been white guy comics writers' vicarious "doorway to ethnic chicks" for 25 years, even when he's not actually sleeping with said chicks. Kitty Pryde (teenage Jewish American Princess), Yukio (Japanese samurai babe), etc., etc. This was a great article that really captured all that’s promising and offensive about this character.
