I kinda agree and disagree at the same time. I do agree in as much as their "team" theme has been some what declinging over this season, but I personally liked the ideas recently of Teyla having a baby and Keller and McKay getting together - consider it character developement.

I think that the writers were just trying to deepen the characters for the next season so they could include even better story lines which may have lead to conflict between some characters or something.

And lastly...is it me, or in Season 5, Teyla was hardly in it what so ever, and for the majroity of episodes, just had little appearences, just to remind us that she had not been taken by a wraith and drained of life lol?

Good review but I have to second the opinions above. There has been too much emphasis on Keller and the McKeller romance this season to the detriment of the other major characters. I miss the team aspect of the show. Keller seems to be everywhere. And although I realize she's not in certain episodes, the episodes she is in have all had major plot points for her character. (And there is much more to come this season.) The same cannot be said for Sheppard, Teyla or Ronon. The focus on this season has been getting McKay and Keller together and all other plots and character development have taken a back seat. It's a sad way to end the final season of a once amazing show.

Agree with you - the team is seriously missing this year in order to feed the writers mad love for Jewel/Keller and the forced ship of Keller and McKay. The Prodigal was awesome - the team all represented and all doing something integral to the storyline and interacting in the same place and time. I loved Search and Rescue and The Shrine, except for the ending, but other than that the eps haven't grabbed my attention. Too much focus on Keller and the forced ship, as you've said. I hate that in the last season we get cheated out of what has made this series must see tv - action, adventure, humor and TEAM plus the snark of Sheppard and McKay. Serenitysky said it well above and I second her ending sentence for more eps like The Prodigal and less like Tracker. Although I know what's coming and after tonight, the only one I really look forward to is Vegas. I hope Keller is not in the movie as I don't want to see McKeller for two hours - JMO.

I agree with almost everything in your review and feel that what made the Atlantis show so good for me - the Teaminess, has been somewhat lacking this season. But I attribute that to the focus on this silly McKay and Keller ship. I have found the other characters roles reduced in deference to a writer's wet dream. Which is sad, as I love McKay when he interacts with the others, but with Keller it comes off as a bit pervy. Just my impression, no disrespect if you actually like this romance.
Anyway, I think they redeemed themselves with The Prodigal, what a truly terrific ep!
I hope and pray for more of the same for the rest of the season.
