This came at a very good time for me. I’ve been writing a fantasy story based in fictional Africa, but was running into some concerns on whether I was doing it “right” even with all my research. Now I have an example of this done well I can read. Thank you Thank you!

Thanks for the interview. In the last year, I’ve been seeking out fiction – particulary speculative fiction – that explores African and Middle Eastern cultures. I’ve found some writers I really enjoyed. Charles Saunders is on my list of authors whose works I plan to try.
