That’s tough to say. It’s likely that, with all the blogging and other online activity, we’re simply learning more about which ones do play. I recently learned that actor Adoni Maropis, who played a bad guy on five episodes of “24,” plays in USATT tournaments (1591 rating), and lists table tennis as his favorite sport.

Hi Larry T,
Connie Sweeris sent them a bunch of stuff to use as models for the outfits used. She was on the U.S. Team on the Ping-Pong Diplomacy trip to China in 1971. They made replicas of most of it, but I was told they used the actual USTTA patch she sent, not a reproduction.

One bit of non-fantasy that was included in Forrest Gump that I wonder if anybody else noticed was that the shirt/sweater that Forrest wore after having made the US Table Tennis team was either an authentic shirt/sweater or a well-made reproduction of the shirt/sweaters worn by the US team around the time of the original Ping Pong Diplomacy tours between the US and Chinese table tennis teams.
