As always, Ottinger's reviews are self-indulgent rubbish. I never believe a word this guy says. Whenever I see a review by Ottinger, I always think "disgruntled wannabe author", and that just about sums him up.

Great review - I love Beagle's work, but haven't read much beyond The Last Unicorn, A Fine & Private Place, and some of his older short fiction. I have another of his short fiction collections on order (Mirror Kingdoms), and I'm running to check right now which of these stories it includes!

Thanks for reviewing this book - I thought the book was amazing! I loved every story. Peter S. Beagle has created so many characters over the years and each one has a unique voice, which is quite a feat. I particularly enjoyed "Chandail" and "...Mr. Moscowitz..." If you have read and enjoyed any of his other work, you'll definitely love this.

If you're considering purchasing this book or his other books, you might want to consider buying it right from Conlan Press as more of the proceeds go directly to Peter that way. You can get signed copies as well. (I'm not affiliated with Conlan Press at all, just a Peter fan, but if mentioning this violates any posting rules please feel free to remove. Thanks).
