"What I don’t get is why a few episodes back he hired someone to hunt her down like an animal and then a few episodes later remote-wiped her. He kept putting her in harm’s way in order to… what? What’s the endgame there?"

Is there anything that makes us know for certain that it was Alpha doing these things?

Yes, apparently Caroline was a big bad animal rights activist willing to break the law to save animals, but a stickler for her illegal, unenforcable contract with an evil organization.

That makes tons of sense!

The ending was ridiculous. First they felt the need to set up the Princess Saves Herself idea so strongly that all they were missing was an after-episode lesson from Sailor Moon. Then not only did Paul "save" Caroline, he TOOK HER BACK TO THE DOLLHOUSE. OFFSCREEN. wut? Was that just set up for his character development to show he wasn't really a jackass who would sacrifice Mellie to his creepy obsession? Way to go with more consequences for women to serve male character development. That's what's missing in TV these days!

(Yeah, I could use a snarkfest if you couldn't tell.)

Hey now, I just read a blog post saying that Mary Sues are not necessarily bad!
