What's ironic about the show vs. the book is that I read the first few pages of Sawyer's book which gives away the reveal that the show is trying to hide, so I know what caused the blackout, if they continue in that same vein.

But I still like the characters. And I can already tell where Suicidal doctor's destiny is taking him.... if coincidences run like they do, there's only one linkage available for him in this show so far...

And I hope they complicate that a bit so I don't feel like I've guessed his whole plot.

By the way, I put down the Sawyer book after page three, willing instead to be lost in the drama of Flashforward for awhile...

It's focus is on Cheating Man, and it really has a radically different angle, and a radically different flashforward moment...

But i love how Flashforward is developing. Like you, the addition of the Nazi and the other plot lines is begging the question over whether you make your future happen or if you let it happen...these characters are causing their futures to some extent... it's really an interesting dilemma.
