Most competent reviewers are saying pretty much the same thing you are, but audiences are eating this up. Kind of depressing, and yet, I get it.

Sergey - thank goodness, I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed! She does clean up nice, though. I also like that the villain grew up from being a self-aware blob of malicious sludge to being, hey, humans, waving their...ahem, militaries...around in places they're not wanted and don't belong, stealing from and killing off worlds.

As predictable as the story was - I left the theater feeling both like I wanted to run back in and see it again, and also crushingly depressed because our world will never be that cool, ever. I was really moved by the interconnectedness and the sacredness of all life on Pandora.

The soundtrack, too, was just a rehash of every movie James Horner has done - I heard Titanic, Braveheart, Mask of Zorro, and a couple of others - but for all its flaws standing alone, the soundtrack meshed perfectly with the film itself.

So honestly, yes, I want to see it again. And again. ^_^

Logan--yeah, they really did.

I actually didn't have a problem with that, for some reason. I guess I could readily see some corporation coming up with that name.

exactly! I wrote about this very same thing in my blog. This movie was never made to shock or to surprise. It was made to let people walk from the cinema feeling happy. And that, most of them did.
