Tim Curry may have out-Tim-Curried himself though in The Worst Witch. . .

*Has* anybody seen his tambourine?

I would also like to nominate Brian Blessed in Flash Gordon. I challenge Mr. Sherry's comment that no one can yell after Al Pacino-- Brian Blessed in ANYTHING rules the school. Check his performance in the Tom Jones miniseries.

This post calls out for a part 2! Maybe a part 3! This field must be studied extensively.

Your list is great. I do think that there should be a disclaimer warning about the high risk nature of the ham job. For every sinle time that scene chewing has kept a bad film from being worse, Ben Kingsley has been tied to a chair in a Uwe Boll film one thousand times.

@ Clint:

Oh, yeah, Rip Torn should def. have been on the list. I'd scrubbed that one from my mind.

Also on the subject of Christophers: Mr. Lambert (esp. as Rayden in Mortal Kombat), though maybe he gets an honorary pass for the following quote:

"It may be a mistake to say this, but I know my limitations as an actor and I know what I can and can not do. Robert De Niro can do everything. I can't. A "Highlander" movie is basically my thing. What I'm attempting to do is develop my ability as an actor and try to be the best I can be in the fantasy/action genre. I would love to do a "Rain Man," but I think ultimately this is my thing."

Rip Torn from Beast Master as Mayaxx
Tim Curry as Darkness.
David Bowie as Jareth the Goblin King
James Hong as Lo Pan.
Clancy Brown. Period. (particularly Carnivale's Brother Justin and Highlander's Kurgan)
Christopher. Walken. Excla-mation. Point! (The Prophesy)

What, no Gary Oldman?

Re: Rocky Horror -- though I love Dr. Frank N. Furter more than a heterosexual man probably should, it's not just Tim Curry who makes this a great movie. Sarandon and Richard O'Brien and, most especially, Barry Bostwick just plain kick ass in this flick. It always bugged me that such a wonderfully enjoyable mashup of monster movies, Bowie, musicals, and 70s sex-and-drugs culture has been relegated to being a 'cult classic.' When viewed sans undersexed-wishing-they-were-oversexed morons throwing toilet paper and yelling cuss words at the screen, RHPS is a gem of a film, with one of the best post-50s songbooks in movie history.

After Al Pacino, no other actor is allowed to yell. They are only permitted to speak in an elevated tone of voice.

He does quiet ranting rather well, too.

HE'S AN ABSENTEE LANDLORD!!!

I wonder if the reason I like Robin Hood as much as I do is due to the awesomeness of Alan Rickman's Sheriff. No matter what happens in Russell Crowe's Robin Hood, Alan Rickman has become the Highlander of Sheriffs. There can be only one.

(I also rather liked Mary Elizabeth Mastrontonio in that movie).
