This is perhaps the most insidious plot against him yet. Not only have they given him a taste of freedom, even shown him where his prison is, but they’ve shown him how pointless escape is. Assuming that the Prisoner’s escape is genuine, do you think events play out realistically when he gets back to England? Do you think this episode perhaps inspired Rescue from Gilligan’s Island ten years later?
