From Modern Mythcraft to Magical Surrealism

Subscriber update

The last print edition of Fantasy Magazine, issue #7, will be going out to subscribers soon. Here’s what our subscribers who are already paid up beyond issue #7 can expect thereafter, in addition to finding future Fantasy Magazine content online for free:

By default, your subscription will be converted on a remaining issue-by-issue basis to the new and improved Weird Tales starting with issue #348, which, under new fiction editor Ann VanderMeer, has begun to assemble a cutting-edge story lineup that includes a number of Fantasy Magazine contributors, among others. Expect to see stories by such authors as Cat Rambo, Amanda Downum, and Sarah Monette — as well as nonfiction by the likes of Jeff VanderMeer and Cherie Priest, an exclusive interview with China Miéville, and lots more. (If you’re already also a Weird Tales subscriber, the appropriate number of extra issues will be added to your subscription.) Please check us out online at

Alternately, you can write to us at subs(at) and let us know that you’d prefer to finish your Fantasy Magazine subscription with a copy of our Fantasy trade paperback anthology — featuring all original stories by Holly Phillips, Ekaterina Sedia, Lisa Mantchev, Samantha Henderson and more. (If you’ve got more than two issues’ worth left on your subscription after issue #7, you’ll receive an additional Prime Books fantasy anthology of corresponding value as well.)

We’ll include all this information in hardcopy along with issue #7, along with further details about the alternate anthology choices.
