I’m pleased to let folks know that Jason Heller has kindly agreed to become Fantasy Magazine‘s new Book Editor. As such, Jason will be scheduling, assigning, editing, and publishing book articles, which includes interviews, reviews, and columns. Right off the bat, I’m throwing our backlog at him to arrange and get published while he figures out what’s important and interesting in fantasy and speculative fiction for the next few months.
Jason, who recently finished the Odyssey workshop, is no stranger to our pages, having written a number of columns for us as well as distinguished markets such as The Onion, Sybil’s Garage, Farrago’s Wainscot, and Apex Magazine . He’s both a talented editor and writer, well read in the field, and abrim with interesting ideas. I’m really looking forward to working with him!

Booyah!
I’m just following you around, Todd!
Thanks, Cat, can’t wait to jump in…
So, um, anyone read any good books lately?
I read the new Rob Thurman book while in Indiana, lots of fun. Plus all of the Kat Richardson Greywalker series. Plus a ton of good stuff my brother Lowell passed along, several steampunk and/or involving Sherlock Holmes or Victorian historical figures ones prominent among them. Tepper’s The Revenants. And a bunch of Wodehouse and other stuff.
Oh! And Never let Me Go, which I had somehow missed before.
Mr. Heller is a talented individual. Great hiring move, Cat.
Great news! Congratulations!
