Ah, come on, why would Marlon Wayans worry you? I thought the comic relief he brought to the Dungeons & Dragons movie was AWESOME! Really put that gem of a film over the top, you know? I think only Yahoo Serious, or perhaps Larry the Cable Guy, might have been a better choice.
But the one that has me a bit concerned is Dennis Quaid.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the Quaid-meister. Especially when he’s in a comedy, and especially especially when he’s in a fantasy comedy. In all seriousness, Wilder Napalm was a sadly overlooked and underrated movie in my opinion. Check it out if you haven’t already.
But after his turn in Dragonheart, I now dread any movie that requires him to be stoic. On the plus side, however, he won’t feel the need to affect some horrible semblance of an accent, since G.I. Joe is a “real American hero.”
As a fan of 80′s cartoons, what really has me excited about a G.I Joe movie is the possibility that this means new He-Man and She-Ra films are on the way.
On the other hand, it might also mean a Smurf movie is forthcoming. That would really smurf kitty smurf, you know?
Of course you know. And knowing is half the battle.
